Every year, ink lovers, art enthusiasts, and creatives gather in Minneapolis for one of the most anticipated events in the region, the Minneapolis Tattoo Arts Festival. Produced by Villain Arts, this festival brings together world-class tattoo artists, unique vendors, live entertainment, and thousands of attendees for an unforgettable experience centered around art and self-expression.

ABOUT VILLAIN ARTS
Villain Arts was founded in 1999 by Troy Timpel and has grown into the largest tattoo festival production company in the world. Hosting over 30 conventions annually across the United States, Villain Arts has built a reputation for producing high-quality, immersive events that celebrate tattoo culture and the artists behind it.
The Minneapolis Tattoo Arts Festival is a true reflection of that vision, combining creativity, community, and professionalism under one roof.
A GROWING PARTNERSHIP BUILT ON TRUST

Watson Express Security has proudly partnered with Villain Arts for seven years, providing professional event security for the Minneapolis Tattoo Arts Festival. Our first year working with the event was as a subcontractor, but through consistency, communication, and trust, our involvement has continued to grow. Over the years, our partnership has strengthened, and we’ve taken on more operational support for the festival.
Our ongoing collaboration with Troy and the Villain Arts team has also led to expanded coverage.
WHAT THE CLIENT HAS TO SAY
Our commitment to professionalism and adaptability is best reflected through the words of Villain Arts founder, Troy Timpel:
“We have hired Watson Express for several years now, and they are great to work with. Super professional, fun guys that are attentive to our unique security needs. Good group of guys working the show for us. We look forward to our Tattoo festival next year and working with them.” — Troy Timpel, Founder of Villain Arts

SECURITY THAT SUPPORTS THE EXPERIENCE
Large-scale events like the Minneapolis Tattoo Arts Festival require security teams who understand more than just crowd control. Our team focuses on:
Maintaining a safe and welcoming environment
Supporting artists, vendors, and staff
Managing crowd flow and access points
Responding quickly and professionally to on-site needs
By working closely with event organizers, we help ensure that attendees can fully enjoy the experience while artists and vendors focus on what they do best.
LOOKING AHEAD
As the Minneapolis Tattoo Arts Festival continues to grow, Watson Express Security is proud to remain a trusted partner. We look forward to many more years of collaboration with Villain Arts, supporting events that celebrate creativity and community.
